A fire incident occurred on Friday at the Amuwo Odofin Industrial Estate in the Mile 2 area of Lagos, triggering an emergency response from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.
The development was confirmed in a brief statement issued by the agency and signed by its Controller General, Margaret Adeseye, who said firefighting teams had been deployed to the location and were actively working to bring the situation under control.
According to the statement, firefighters are fully engaged at the scene of the incident, with efforts ongoing to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby facilities.
The agency reassured residents, workers and business operators within the industrial estate and its surroundings that the fire was being effectively managed, urging members of the public to remain calm.
“As of now, our officers are on ground handling the fire outbreak at the Amuwo Odofin Industrial Estate, Mile 2. The public is advised not to panic, as the situation is under control,” the statement noted.
As at the time of reporting, the cause of the fire and the level of damage had not yet been made public, while investigations were expected to commence after the emergency response.
