Former Manchester United defender, Gary Neville, has said that he was really frustrated with Pedro Neto during Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday.
He said the Portuguese forward should stop dreaming to be like Chelsea legend, Eden Hazard, as he lacks the capability to reach that height.
Argentine midfielder, Enzo Fernandez equalised for Chelsea in the last moments of the game to help the Blues who played without a manager get a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium.
Tijjani Reijnders had put the home side in front in the first half and it appeared City were keeping all three points but the home team failed to finish the job and ended up conceding late in the game.
Neville said on his Sky Sports podcast, “I mentioned in the first half that they’re a good team. Pedro Neto, you mentioned at the end that he was getting more involved in the game and he was shining.
“But he really frustrated me in a way you wouldn’t believe. He’s pretty close to being like Eden Hazard, but he’ll never be exactly like him because he doesn’t have that same drive to win and make the big plays.
“Hazard had that beautiful glide about him, but he was also a killer, and you’ve got to be a killer in those situations, and Neto isn’t that.
“It was really frustrating in the second half, but Chelsea scored an equalizer towards the end. Man City finally got their reward in the end because they didn’t finish the job properly.”
