Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, has admitted that their Premier League campaign was “not good enough” after they finished eighth.
The Red Devils rounded off this season with a 2-0 win at Brighton.
But the victory did not stop them from enduring their worst ever finish in the English top-flight.
Ten Hag’s men finished with a -1 goal difference – their worst record in 34 years – and lost a total of 14 games.
“It is not good enough by far. Eighth is the worst performance. It is the truth, but we should have done better.
“Hopefully we will have a good week and everyone is on board. We will put a competitive team out and we will fight for the [FA] Cup,” Ten Hag told reporters.
