Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes has slammed Tyrell Malacia after he made a “sloppy” error which resulted in a “disaster” against Sevilla in the Europa League.
United looked set for a comfortable win in the first leg of their quarter-final clash after they went 2-0 up thanks to a first-half double from Marcel Sabitzer.
However, they conceded two late own goals from Tyrell Malacia and Harry Maguire, ahead of next week’s return leg in Spain.
Malacia was responsible for Sevilla’s first goal, allowing the ball to run to Jesus Navas, whose shot he deflected past David de Gea.
“The second half was a complete disaster, really.
“Malacia should have dealt with that first goal at the source and he didn’t, then from then on it was a really difficult night.
“En-Nesyri was a bit of a handful when he came on, he looked good in the air, but Malacia has to deal with that,” Scholes told BT Sport.
